Haut Lac Swiss private boarding school – Design and visualisation
Haut Lac is an international Swiss private school located close to Lake Geneva in the canton Vaud.
Haut Lac asked us to design the interior of their new boarding school, which has a beautiful view of the lake. The photorealistic drawings we made were needed for the design process, but the final drawings were also used to show the new students and their parents how the interior would look once finished.
Common living room
The big classroom is turned into a spacious common room where the students can relax and entertain themselves in the evening and during weekends.
The room has several cosy corners where the students can play a game, read a book or have a chat. The seating area’s at the window side overlook lake Geneva and the Alps. Besides the cosy sitting area’s there is also a pool table, football table and piano where the students can entertain themselves.
By placing the cupboards on wheels the room is multifunctional and can also be used to watch a movie or presentation all together using the beamer on the ceiling.

Study room
To create a workplace where the students could concentrate on their homework, we designed a study room with a low-stimulus environment, good acoustics and efficient lighting. The workplace has a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. We chose the colour blue because it provides calm, concentration and reliability. It puts people at ease and at the same time ensures productivity. We choose a blue with a warm (red) undertone to make it not too cold. The acoustic partitions between every workplace provide privacy and reduce the ambient noise, allowing students to concentrate better.
We reused the chairs and tables from the bedrooms.

The assignment was to create a cosy, functional, two-person bedroom where students would feel comfortable and at home. All bedrooms have a private bathroom. We had to reuse the current beds and cupboards. In this stage of the project, the floors and colour of the walls remain.
