Who We Are
Technical depth meets international expertise

Cindy Hooghoudt — Founder

“We do not impose a signature style. We create high-end residential interiors that reflect who you are”
Highwood Interiors was founded by Cindy Hooghoudt, an interior designer based in Switzerland with a background in Architecture and Construction Engineering. With over 17 years of experience, she specialises in high-end residential renovation and new build projects.
Our expertise sits at the intersection of creative vision and technical precision. We approach each project with a strong architectural understanding and structural clarity, ensuring that every design is not only refined, but grounded in clarity and built with precision.
Working fluently in English and collaborating with a trusted network of professional contractors and craftsmen, we guide internationally minded homeowners through the complexities of residential new developments and renovation in Switzerland.
We continuously refine our approach, exploring new materials, techniques and technical solutions. For us, true quality lies in the details; in proportion, material transitions and the quiet precision that defines a well-designed home.
We do not impose a signature style. We create high-end residential interiors that reflect who you are.
What We Do
Full-Service interior design & renovation
Highwood Interiors provides comprehensive interior design and renovation services across Switzerland, specialising in high-end residential renovation and new build projects. From spatial redesign to final installation, we guide every stage with technical precision, structured coordination, and refined attention to detail.

Spatial design & interior architecture
Space planning, layout optimisation and floor plan redesign form the foundation of every project. We develop complete interior architecture concepts for kitchens, bathrooms and bespoke cabinetry, supported by detailed technical drawings that ensure clarity and precision throughout the build.

Material selection & procurement
We curate and source tiles, finishes, sanitaryware and bespoke furniture, both in Switzerland and internationally. From requesting samples, defining colour palettes, creating tile layouts to coordinating orders and deliveries, we manage the entire process. Every detail, down to joinery finishes and hardware, is meticulously reviewed to ensure consistent quality and coherence.

Visualisation
Our realistic 3D visualisations translate drawings into lifelike imagery, allowing you to experience your interior before construction begins. As our visuals closely reflect the final result, decisions can be made with both clarity and confidence.

Bespoke joinery & custom furniture
We design fully bespoke kitchens, wardrobes and made-to-measure cabinetry. All production drawings are reviewed in close collaboration with our joinery partners. Materials are carefully specified, and installations are coordinated to ensure exact execution – down to proportions, finishes and detailing.

Technical planning
We produce comprehensive lighting, electrical and sanitary plans, defining exact positions, heights, and any additional specifications. Beyond functionality, we carefully select finishes for switches, sockets and fittings, ensuring every technical element integrates seamlessly into the overall design.

On-site design coordination
We remain actively involved across the construction process. Through regular site visits and close coordination with contractors and craftsmen, we safeguard the integrity of the design. When unforeseen conditions arise, we adapt drawings and technical details as needed, ensuring the project remains aligned with your original vision.
“A fully realised, move-in-ready home, precisely detailed, technically sound and designed around the way you live”
How We Work
A seamless structured journey
A structured and transparent journey from initial research to final completion.
1. Analysis & research
We begin by laying the foundation for your residential renovation or new build project.
Through detailed client questionnaires, site visits, and technical assessment, we analyse how the property functions and define any spatial, functional, and aesthetic requirements you may have.
Existing layouts, circulation, light, electrical points and plumbing connections are meticulously documented to establish a precise design brief. This phase ensures clarity before design begins.
2. Design & development
Building on the design brief, we develop well-considered interior design concepts focused on space planning, proportion, and functionality.
Here, multiple layout options are explored through detailed 2D plans and realistic 3D visualisations. Materials, finishes, bespoke cabinetry, and lighting concepts are selected and refined progressively, supported by physical samples and tile layouts.
The final design is visually and conceptually resolved – cohesive, balanced, and ready for implementation.
3. Technical documentation & preparation
The approved design is translated into a comprehensive set of technical drawings and specifications used for execution.
This includes custom furniture drawings, lighting plans, electrical layouts, sanitary plans, tiling layouts and construction details. All materials and technical requirements are clearly defined to ensure precise implementation by contractors and craftsmen.
We then coordinate ordering, procurement and delivery planning, aligning materials and bespoke elements with the renovation timeline to support a seamless transition into construction.
4. Execution & coordination
During construction, the appointed contractor manages site operations, while we remain actively involved in design coordination.
Through regular site visits and coordination with electricians, plumbers, carpenters and tilers, we review drawings, clarify details, and safeguard the integrity of the design. Where unforeseen conditions arise, we adapt technical drawings to maintain coherence and quality.
We oversee the installations of bespoke elements and coordinate deliveries in line with the construction schedule, ensuring the final result reflects the approved design down to the smallest detail.
